Rapid Lake Lodge was founded in 1990 by Alain and Serge Lagacé who continues in an active role as company President and vice President. When you contact our office, ask us what is the best time to fish Arctic char, to hunt caribou or to fly-in with your own aircraft. We believe that we are the best known fly-in lodge in Northern Quebec with all lodging in private cabins and hot shower facilities, all breakfasts and all lunches, all dinners, including our trade mark grand appetizer "Ungava style". highlights include snacks and beverages between meals, daily fly-out to the Char fishing pools and a Photo Air Safari to our best kept secret places.

Square Tail Lodge

Square-Tail Lodge is unique in that it not only has some of the finest river fishing for Trophy Brook Trout in Canada, but it also has some of the best Pike and Walleye fishing to be found in Quebec. The camps on Lac Troilus are built on a point at the outlet of the lake and at the headwaters of the north branch of the Broadback River. The lake is 15 miles long, with numerous islands, bays, and smaller streams to fish. Although many of our guests are dedicated fly fishermen, and wish to fish only the river, other anglers enjoy spin fishing the variety of fish that are available at our lodge.

We can accommodate up to 8 guests at our camp on Lac Troilus. Lodging is either log or frame cabins that sleep 2 to 4 guests. All cabins are comfortably furnished and made up daily. Some cabins have complete washroom facilities, and others use a central washroom with showers and flush toilets. A full course menu is expertly prepared and served in our main dinning room. Buildings are either wood or propane heated, and all have electric lights. Freezer space is available for freezing and storing your catch.

Our camp is in a wilderness area serviced by road, via a chauffeur driven van, from Chibougamau. For guests wishing to fly commercial airlines, there are daily weekday flights from Montreal to Chibougamau. Packages include: 7 nights at our lodge. Accommodations, meals, guides, boats, motors, gas, landing nets, boat cushions etc. Round trip transportation, by chauffeur driven van, from Chibougamau.
