Stonehame Lodge & Chalets sits atop Fitzpatrick Mountain in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Our special 'peace' of Pictou County offers spectacular vistas, inland over the rolling farmland and forests of our historic surroundings and outward over the waters of the Northumberland Strait and beyond.

Our four star retreat offers nine beautifully appointed log chalets and five private guest rooms in our lodge, with country decor and furnishings and many of the amenities of home. We have a hearty BBQ menu in season and menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a snack tray menu. Stonehame also offers customized geocaching events for family reunions, weddings, corporate team building activities or other special functions. It's located on a sleepy country road at Balmoral, off the Sunrise Trail at Brule. Nearby, Rushton's Beach Provincial Park offers sandy beaches and the warmest sea water in Eastern Canada. Start your adventure on site or nearby and enjoy the excellent opportunities for hiking, cycling, nature and wildlife viewing, bird watching, sea kayaking, sailing, seal watching and more as you tour the area.

Our location is perfect for exploring throughout Nova Scotia and Cape Breton and into neighbouring provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We are 30 miles from the PEI ferry; 60 to the PEI bridge; 40 to New Brusnwick, 65 to Halifax, and two hours to Cape Breton. Return from anywhere at the end of the day for relaxing evening barbeque, camp fire and beautiful sunset.

Amherst Shore Country Inn

The Amherst Shore Country Inn is a charming seaside country inn overlooking lush fields and bountiful gardens. A lovingly restored centuryold farmhouse, the Inn tastefully combines old and new. A perfect seaside oasis for visitors to northern Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick.

Accommodations include elegant suites, comfortable rooms and rustic seaside cottages. The inn has four suites, two junior suites, two guest rooms and three seaside cottages. All are complete with ensuite bath and a panoramic view of the Northumberland Strait, and New Brunswick beyond. The inn sits on a knoll overlooking field and sea, a perfect vista for the evening gourmet dinners, which are served each evening by reservation only. The 600 foot beach is just a short walk down the lane and then left along a mowed path across a meadow. At high tide we have the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, at low tide the water can wander out as far as a mile presenting miles of sand flats and explore.

The inn is well located, on Nova Scotia's Northumberland Strait, just 15 minutes from Port Elgin, New Brunswick, 25 minutes from Amherst, Nova Scotia and 40 minutes from Confederation Bridge (to P.E.I.).
