Bear Paw Ranch Resort

The Bear Paw is in northern British Columbia, Canada, about 200 miles south of the Yukon. It is located 15 miles south of the Stikine River, and about 5 miles north of Iskut, British Columbia. Spectacular Fishing! Wildlife Photography! Scenic Horseback Riding! White Water Adventure!

The Bear Paw features a private lounge just for our guests. Enjoy an evening of good conversation, laughter, and music. Local northern artists display their art work at the Bear Paw.

Or if you prefer, "Rough It" in one of our many Theme Cabins. At the Bear Paw village, we have comfortable and picturesque guest cabins, complete with a wood fired sauna, and hot showers. Enjoy an evening with your friends or family in our teepee. Cook your dinner over the fire inside, sing campfire songs and experience a good nights sleep, in true native style.

You can see volcanic Mount Edziza first hand, hike the Spatzizi Plateau, pan a rushing northern river for real gold, feel the rush of landing a prize Rainbow Trout, or jet boat down the mighty Stikine River.

Nechako Lodge

At Nechako Lodge we believe in and practice ecotourism. Our incredible backcountry wilderness trails all lead to beauty and adventure. We have rapids, lakes, waterfalls, and scenery that must be seen to be believed. Bird watchers are in their glory, as is anyone wishing to catch sight of wildlife and let's not forget the fish. This park is an eco-tourist's delight. Be it canoeing, fishing, birding, hiking, flightseeing, over night camping, or just sitting around the lodge relaxing and enjoying a gourmet meal, we have it all for you.

We offer a variety of choices. Did you arrive with an RV or tent and boat? Maybe you would like to rent one of our camping spots, right by the boat launch? Don't feel like cooking - we will be happy to serve you a gourmet supper, breakfast, or lunch. Prefer the truly rustic? Try one of our self-contained cabins, kitchen equipped, and some with full bathroom facilities. Choose a spacious guest rooms in the main lodge building with all meals included.

At most of the lakes in our vicinity you will encounter hard fighting wild rainbow trout. The flyfisher will find much satisfaction catching fish on dry or wet flies. The lodge is equipped with a tackle shop, supplying float tubes and canoe rentals, and of course your fishing license. We provide a discount on accommodation to all guests who practice catch and release.

Canoe treks - our floatplane will ferry you, your canoe, and all supplies to your departure point. We can arrange for supply and safety checks too. Hikers will find the most popular trails in our region are all accessible and we can fly you into Tweedsmuir Park and pick you up when you request.

Palmerville Lodge

Activities: Grizzly Bear Watching, Nature, Photography, Hiking

Welcome - Once in a lifetime wilderness nature adventures to the Khutzeymateen valley of the Grizzly Bear near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Our three hour tour or 2 day overnight tour include a spectacular float plane ride to the pristine Khutzeymateen Valley, home of Canada's only grizzly bear sanctuary. This trip is a professional or amateur photographers dream come true with some of the best grizzly bear viewing in the world. Your photography and sightseeing adventure also includes the possibility of viewing black bears, whales, seals, mountain goats, wolves, deer, sea otters, bald eagles and schools of Pacific wild salmon as we travel through the glorious coastal rainforest. During our busy May to September 2006 season 95% of our tours saw grizzly bears.

Palmerville is a floating lodge located in Seal Cove, at the east end of Prince Rupert harbour. This unique location across from the seaplane base, is accessible only by boat, but just minutes from downtown. Accommodations feature a spacious dining area and living area, west coast decor and separate bedrooms which sleep up to 12-14 people comfortably. The surrounding decks and floating wharves offer a relaxing space to enjoy the sun and the stars, barbecue pit, and outdoor hot tub. Meals are of the finest, freshest seafood and western cuisine.

Enjoy a hike on the trail behind the lodge where you will have a spectacular view of the harbour. Be sure to take your camera, as there are numerous seals, eagles, otters, deer, and the occasional black bear. For rainy days we have a see-through covered area seating up to 24 people comfortably. This area is ideal for group banquets and includes a fireplace, music and a greenhouse.
