We are located at the beautiful Stuart Lake near Fort St. James in British Columbia, Canada.Enjoy the beautiful view over the lake right from your cabin or your own small sundeck on a quiet place. Go swimming in Stuart Lake or just relax at the beach - you have easy access to the lake via our lakeshore property. We offer you fully equipped cabins with kitchen and bathroom. All cabins have colour TV, heating, electricity, sundeck and a gorgeous view over the lake.

Enjoy the many possibilities we and the area offer you : fishing, hiking, barbecue, skiing.....or just a quiet place to relax. After going fishing cook your fish on our big outside barbecue fire place. Or go hiking on the Mount Pope Hiking Trail which is reachable by foot just from your cabin. We also make arrangements for horseback riding, canoeing ,fishing, and dogsled tours.

Fishing : enjoy Stuart Lake or one of the other many lakes in this area
Hiking : you can reach the Mount Pope Trail by foot right from your cabin or you choose one of the other trails not far away from the Lodge
Mountain Bike Trails : experience the beautiful nature in this area and visit one of the mountain bike trails

Omineca Lodge

Omineca Lodge is the base for all our Adventures. The Lodge is built on an Island on our 7 km long Home Lake. We have the lake all to ourselves, there are no other homes or Lodges with 50 miles. Three streams flow from the snowy peaks of Grizzly Mountain (5800ft) into our watershed. The outlet stream of our Home Lake is a Class-A trout spawning stream where Eagles and Osprey come to hunt. We can always find a quiet corner in sheltered Islands and Bays of the lake to canoe and to fish. And our Home Lake is connected to a watershed of other streams and lakes waiting to be explored. Omenica Lodge has been guiding guests through the Canadian Wilderness for over 20 years.

Omineca Lodge is the Main Lodge and 4 Guest Cabins. Each Guest Cabin has comfortable sheeted beds, a woodstove, electric lights and hot shower. With pre-arrangement 4 to 6 people can have the Lodge to themselves. For larger Groups we can accommodate up to 15 people. Along with real Canadian foods: Moose Stews and Smoked Rainbow Trout we serve a unique style of International meals that are hearty and original. And nobody leaves the lodge without having Herb's famous Prime Rib Steaks.

Surrounding the lodge and our Home Lake watershed are pristine Old-Growth Forests. Through these ancient forests a hiking trail leads up to the Alpine Meadows of Grizzly Mountain. Close to our Home Lake are other natural points of interest including day trip trophy lakes. A day trip away from the Lodge is the Fort St. James Museum. For a glimpse into the history of Omineca Country a visit to this restored Hudson's Bay Company Fort is highly recommended. A Nature trail leads on a circuit around the island.
