Num-Ti-Jah Lodge

Activities: Fishing, Hiking, Family, Horses, Skiing

In today's modern world, there are still only a few basics that we all need at the end of the day: shelter for the night, a hearty meal, and a warm bed. At Num-Ti-Jah Lodge we believe in the simple life. Bow Lake is a place that has always attracted artists. The clear light and sharp peaks have inspired many. The same inspiration is also at work for the photographer, writer, poet or individual who is looking for peace and light in a natural setting.

We have 25 rustic rooms, hot showers any time, thick duvets to crawl under, and no phones or TV in the room to interrupt your thoughts. Our restaurant is the heart of our Lodge. The large stone fireplace warms the room in the evening. Our cuisine is fresh, in season and always cooked to perfection. After the evening meal, relax with a book, or a deck of cards in the library.
A walk along the glacial blue lake reveals rare alpine flowers, evergreen forests and sparkling creeks. This much beauty can fill up your day and your soul. Summer Activities: Horseback riding and tours for children and adults. Trips range in length from one hour to all day. The mountains surrounding Bow Lake offer many levels of hiking trails for the beginner and experienced hiker. Many of our suggested trails are perfect for families with small children. Fishing Bow Lake for many varieties of Lake Trout including Dolly Varden and Bull Trout.

Winter is our favourite season. We encourage our guests to explore on cross-country skis or snowshoes. If downhill skiing is your passion, Lake Louise is only half an hour away. For back-country enthusiasts, the trail to Bow Hut and glacial touring begins here. And for those who demand untracked snow for telemarking, take your pick of slopes.

Cheechako Cabins

Activities: Nature, Hiking, Family, Fishing, Photography

Cheechako Cabins is located in the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and offers a secluded mountain retreat away from the crowds of the national parks. Truly, a home away from home. In keeping with Nordegg's historical mining background, we chose an architectural style reminiscent of the early miners cabins. The road leading to Cheechako Cabins also provides access to Mount Baldy and Coliseum Mountain, popular hiking destinations. There are also numerous lookouts, points of interest and trail access further down the David Thompson Highway. Numerous local lakes and rivers like the North Saskatchewan, Blackstone and Clive offer great trout fishing to the fly and burbot, saugeen, walleye, whitefish and lake trout to the angler.

Cheechako Cabins is a family owned and operated small resort, offering a secluded, peaceful escape. We pride ourselves on providing clean, comfortable, well-equipped cabins with many extras not normally provided at other establishments. All the cabins are self-contained with modern, fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms, electric heat, wood-burning stoves, propane BBQ's and private decks. New for 2003 - satellite TV. The cabins are situated to give as much privacy as possible with minimal environmental impact. The outdoor common area has a large fire pit, picnic tables and benches for lounging around the fire or for socializing with other guests.

Guests who enjoy taking pictures will find themselves in a virtual paradise. There is a wide array of wildflowers as well as numerous types of wildlife including elk, deer, and wild horses. Bring along your ATVs to enjoy some of the best quading opportunities in Alberta.
