Northern Alberta family lodges and fishing resorts vacations..
The northern half of the province, Alberta's outback, is truly untamed. Winding through the acres of wilderness are some of the best and safest highways in the world, connecting little pockets of civilization where the spirit of explorers, pioneers, trappers and hunters still lives on.
Eco tourists, photographers, hunters, and fishermen are always welcomed in Northern Alberta. Enjoy our beautiful scenery, unspoiled valleys, rivers and creeks and good fresh air to breathe! There's Walleye and Northern Pike in our rivers, wild big game animals including bears, moose, deer and elk which roam the land. There are also many near extinct species of birds not to mention our abundant migratory and upland birds to photograph.
Kayak the roaring rapids of the Athabasca, or canoe the intricate system of lakes and rivers that take you into the vastness of Alberta's North. Explore the complex latticework of trails and cuts that make this region one of the world's best all-terrain vehicle destinations

Located
on the historic Sturgeon Weir River, Pawistik Lodge guests experience
the kind of fishing normally reserved for exclusive fly-in trips to
Canada's far north. Trophy northerns are the norm, as well as amazing
catches of walleye throughout the whole system of 200 miles of rivers
and lakes. We have a rainbow trout lake which sees regular catches over
8 pounds. Although the Sturgeon Weir is a major Northern Shield river,
at some points almost a mile in width, rapids both north and south of
the lodge make the river your private preserve. For your convenience,
we park our boats above and below the rapids - in other words, no portaging!
Our catch and release policy ensures that a large fish caught in the
system lives to get even bigger. Of course, you can keep your limit
of fish for the table. Most of our motors are new l5 h.p. units, as
well as new 14 foot aluminum boats. |
